With more than 20 years of experience and overseeing $14 Billion in residential transactions, Marilyn Harra Kaye is considered one of New York's most innovative and influential real estate professionals in Manhattan. Her skills were developed when she attended NYU at 17 and was assistant to the Dean of all the schools. While at NYU, she studied real estate. After a television career, she started working in real estate. She personally became the top broker at the firm while juggling two careers. She was then asked to become the first woman Director of a major real estate company and was featured in the New York Times as such. In the 80's she became Chairman of the Board of Hanfield Callen Rullen & Benjamin, that too a first for a woman. While working with LBKaye, she had the first training programs for brokers and the firm won many awards. A native New Englander, her grandfather started her in real estate at age 7 as he owned many properties and she would accompany him collecting rents downtown. In 1990, Mrs. Kaye started her own residential company, MLBKaye International Realty, Inc. By 1997, her firm was recognized as one of New York's Top 10 Real Estate Companies. In addition to serving on the Board of Directors for the Brokerage Division for the Real Estate Board, Mrs. Kaye was named as the first Co-Chair for the Residential Ethics subcommittee of the New York Real Estate Board. She was cited as one of New York's "Million Dollar Brokers," was a member of FIABCI (The International Real Estate Federation), and was Co-Chair of the Tri State AMG in 1997.
Her creative ideas precipitated the first condominium on Central Park West "The Century." At that time all the building were co-operatives. She worked as the selling agent for many conversions to include The Schwab House, 215 West 91st Street, 415 West 55th Street, & 181 East 73rd Street just to name a few. She has been a feature in "Broker's Weekly," appeared on Channel One for "Short Sales" and has broken many records in real estate. While marketing the largest castle in New York for $22 million, she always has time for her friends and family. Many times they stayed at her townhouse and recently she sold it for a record price after 28 years of ownership. She priced it right...had 5 offers; something she wants her clients to do. She advised sellers to "price their property correctly in order to get offers; it doesn't matter whether the market is high or low, just price it right."
Today, many of the owners, directors, managers and successful brokers were trained personally by Marilyn Kaye; "I am so proud of all of them and the greatest gift you can give someone is being a teacher."
